Punny Pals Card

Today I want to share with you one of the cards I'm offering at my card buffets this month. It's a favorite of mine because it uses the adorable Punny Pals stamp set!

The polka dot patterned paper and the strip of leaves come from the Falling for You paper packet, and the square of grey patterned paper behind the speech balloon comes from the Basics Fundamentals paper packet. I also used some Goldrush and Fern cardstock. For extra bling, I added a strip of gold glitter paper behind the leaves.

The speech bubble was cut from White Daisy cardstock with the now-retired Artiste Cricut cartridge. I also cut out the little bear image from White Daisy cardstock, but for that one I used the brand-new, only-available-this-month Punny Pals Thin Cuts - they make using these little animals so much easier! I then colored it in with our ShinHan markers.

To add a little more bling, I put some gold shimmer on the speech bubble using our Gold Shimmer Brush, and then I added a few Gold Glitter Gems!

The sentiment I used comes from the Stronger Together stamp set. This set is beautiful - and all the proceeds are being donated to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts across the country.

If you'd like to make this card, come to my card buffet on Saturday, October 28 from 2:00-4:00 in the afternoon. We always have a great time!

Beary Christmas Layouts

Earlier this week I shared all the information about my upcoming Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Workshop, so today I wanted to share the actual layouts I created with this kit.

I stayed really close to the workshop guide provided by Close To My Heart. In fact, the only real change I made was to turn over the background paper on layout 2; I preferred using the bear paper instead of the flower paper. I may have adjusted the embellishments a little or added more than was suggested, but I think that was about it!

Thanks for taking a look at my layouts! If you have any questions about anything I've mentioned today, please don't hesitate to ask.

If you'd like to complete these layouts yourself, you can still sign up for my Beary Christmas scrapbooking workshop on Saturday, October 28.

You can find out all the information on my Upcoming Events page or on the Facebook event page. You can RSVP on the Facebook event page, or you can email, call, or text me to sign up.

Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Workshop

  • Saturday, October 28
  • 9:30-11:30
  • $35

For my October scrapbooking workshop, we'll be working with the Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Kit!

This workshop kit retails for $27.95 and provides you with enough materials to create three 12x12 two-page layouts. It also provides you with the paper and embellishments to make eight cards! Plus, you'll have leftover scraps!

Here's what you receive with this kit:

Here are the three layouts you will make with this kit:

I will be posting pictures of my actual layouts on Friday, so be sure to stop back by!

The cost of the workshop is $35. This covers the cost of the kit, shipping, tax, printed directions, and my instruction. If you have already ordered the kit on your own but would still like to come to the workshop, please bring $3.00 to cover my instructional time.

When you follow the cutting guide for cutting your kit, along with all the pieces for your layouts, you will also end up with pieces for eight cards (four each of two designs). There are additional supplies needed to complete these cards, but if you would like to complete them during the workshop, I will provide card bases and envelopes and the use of my stamps and inks for $6.00. Just let me know when you RSVP if you'll be wanting to complete the cards as well!

Sign-up Deadline:
The deadline to sign up for this workshop is Wednesday, October 18th. The deadline allows me to order the kits in time.

Optional Additional Services:
$5 - I will provide any adhesive you need, including foam tape.
$5 - I will cut all of your paper ahead of time so you can just assemble and decorate the layouts the day of the workshop.

Beary Christmas Gate Fold Card

I had my Customer Appreciation Party this past weekend, and we made several fun create-and-take projects. One of them was a gate fold card featuring the Beary Christmas paper packet, and I wanted to share it with you today.

This is a standard A2-size card, which is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. This card just opens in the middle instead of on the side. To make the card, you simply cut a piece of cardstock at 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Then score both sides 2.125 (2 1/8) inches from the ends and fold them together in the middle. You can also just score one end and then bring the other side in to meet it to make sure they meet exactly in the middle.

For this card, I used patterned paper from the Beary Christmas paper packet; New England Ivy, Cranberry, and White Daisy cardstock; and some silver glitter paper. I also used the Merry Everything Cut Above Tag Kit.

The tree image and the sentiment come from the stamp set included in the Merriest Wishes Cardmaking Kit. I stamped the tree in New England Ivy, the sentiment in Black, and the stars in Glacier.

I added bling from packages of Beary Christmas Dots and Bitty Sparkles.

If you'd like to know more or see the card in person, please let me know! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

October Card Buffets

Today I'm sharing information about my October card buffets. I'm having two of them this month, and I hope you'll join me for one of them!

Here's how a card buffet works: You come and make as many cards as you want in the two-hour workshop time. Each card is $3 and they are all designed and pre-cut for you. I will also provide all of your tools and adhesive. If you would like to provide your own adhesive, each card will only be $2.00.

Here are individual pictures of all the cards I'm offering this month. Many of these cards have alternate images and sentiments that you can swap out for the ones I chose.

Each month I offer new cards using Close To My Heart's featured paper packet for the month. The featured paper packet for October is Beary Christmas, and three of the cards this month use paper and products from that collection.

I hope you'll join me this month for one of my card buffets. Space is limited, so sign up soon. You can email, call, or text me to sign up; or you can RSVP on the Facebook event pages at the links below.

October Cardmaking Workshop

Close To My Heart has four wonderful cardmaking workshops in the Holiday Expressions Idea Book. The kit we'll be working with in October is the Merriest Wishes Cardmaking Kit!
  • Saturday, October 21st
  • 2:00-4:00
  • $30

The cost of the workshop covers all of your materials (including adhesive), the use of my supplies, and my instruction. Your papers will also be pre-cut and ready for you to assemble! All you have to do is show up!

At the workshop you will receive the Merriest Wishes Cardmaking Kit, which provides you with the materials to create 12 cards. Easy-to-follow instructions guide you in creating two different card designs, but thanks to the interchangeable designs and stamp sentiments, you can make your cards your way!

Here are the different cards I made with this kit:

Kit Contents:

Because your kit includes a stamp set for you to keep and plenty of leftover supplies, you can continue to make cards after the workshop is over! The kit comes with everything you need, except for inks, blocks, and tools, which I will provide during the workshop.

Optional Service:
If you would just like to make the 12 cards and not receive a stamp set or extra supplies to take home, I can prepare a kit for you for $20. I would still pre-cut all your paper and provide the tools and adhesive for you to complete the cards.

Optional Additional Supplies
Besides the kit contents, there are additional tools that we will use to make the cards. If you would like to order any of the following items in order to make more cards at home, you can add them to your order - and I will cover the tax and shipping! But you must let me know when you RSVP.

Sign-Up Deadline
The deadline to sign up for this workshop is Wednesday, October 11th. This allows me to order the kits in time for the workshop.

You can RSVP on the Facebook event page, or you can email, call, or text me to sign up. Space is limited, so sign up soon!
