Chelsea Gardens Cards

Yesterday I shared with you the layouts I created using the Workshops Your Way Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Kit. The kit also includes instructions for making six cards, so today I'm going to share those with you!

Each of the Workshops Your Way scrapbooking kits includes instructions for making cards with your leftover materials and a few additional supplies. The cards I'm sharing with you today use the Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking Stamp Set & Thin Cuts, a few stamp pads, Watercolor Pencils, and White Cards & Envelopes.

I made six cards total - two each of three designs. I used the Watercolor Pencils on my cards, but I like to use a little water to blend the color. You can use a watercolor brush, a blending pen, or even our Shimmer Brush to blend the color! For each design below I used the now-retired Blender Pen on one card and the Shimmer Brush on the other. If you click on the pictures, you should be able to see a little glitter on the Shimmer Brush versions!

All of the patterned paper, ribbon, and embellishments for these cards are included in the scrapbooking kit, so you don't need much to complete them!

If you'd like to make these cards without purchasing the additional supplies, you can attend my Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Workshop on Saturday, January 27th. All of the details can be found on my earlier blog post or on the Facebook event page. Be sure to order your kit now to get it in time for the workshop!

If you have any questions about anything, please don't hesitate to ask!

Chelsea Gardens Layouts

Last week I shared all the information about my upcoming Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Workshop, so today I wanted to share the actual layouts I created with this kit.

I did make a few changes to my layouts, but I kept the basic designs the same. I switched up the backgrounds, which caused me to need additional sheets of Pewter cardstock. If you would like to make your layouts the same way, you can purchase two sheets of Pewter cardstock from me for $2 - either at my workshop on January 27th or at another time.

Layout 1: For the first layout I used the linen patterned paper as the background instead of the marble patterned paper. Everything else stayed the same.

Layout 2: For the second layout I used White Daisy cardstock for the background instead of the linen patterned paper. I also switched the 3x4 journaling card to the left side of the photo instead of the right.

Layout 3: For the third layout I used Pewter cardstock as the background instead of White Daisy cardstock. I also rearranged the order of the cards and pictures so that there would be pictures on both the top and bottom rows.

If you would like to complete these layouts with my instruction, you can still sign up for my Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Workshop on Saturday, January 27th. You can find out all the information on my Upcoming Events page or on the Facebook event page. You can RSVP on the Facebook event page, or you can email, call, or text me to sign up.

If you need me to order your kit, please let me know by Friday, January 19 so I can have it in time for the workshop. If you are ordering the kit on your own, you may order it at any time, but I would order no later than today if you prefer the cheaper $4.95 shipping. One week ahead of time is probably fine for the $7.95 shipping option.

Thanks for taking a look at my layouts! If you have any questions about anything I've mentioned today, please don't hesitate to ask.

Love Letters

January is National Papercrafting Month, and Close To My Heart is celebrating with a beautiful collection of home decor letters!

Each letter comes as part of a kit containing the sturdy chipboard letter base, rose gold accents, die-cut floral embellishments, and letter stickers for customizing your final artwork piece. The finished letters are the perfect size for adorning any wall in your home.

These versatile letters can also be used together to spell out a whole name or word, which is why if you buy five letter kits, you can choose a sixth kit FREE!

You can also receive your choice of letter kit free by hosting a qualifying party in January or by signing up to be a Consultant!

I have seen these letters used in a variety of ways, and I've seen people using the extra embellishments and flowers to make cards, scrapbooking layouts, or other home decor projects. I've seen the letters put in shadow boxes and on front doors, and Close To My Heart just posted a picture on their Facebook account showing one of these letters on a scrapbooking layout!

Close To My Heart also published a blog post with ideas for using up your Love Letters leftovers. Click on the link below to read it:

To find more ideas, simply search the hashtag #ctmhloveletters on social media.

These letters are only available in January, so be sure to get your before they're gone! You can view and purchase all the letters at the link below, and contact me if you have any questions.

January Stamp of the Month

Today I'm sharing some information about the January stamp of the month set - Bloom & Grow. This stamp set is perfect for cards, but I can definitely see how it could be used on scrapbooking layouts as well.

I love the seed packet image and how all the sentiments have been designed to fit inside it. Right away, that makes a really quick and easy card! You could also use the sentiments on their own - especially on banners or tags - or on any number of images you can find on our Cricut cartridges!

I have seen some great artwork online using this stamp set. If you're interested in seeing some of this artwork, search the hashtags #ctmhbloomandgrow, #ctmhsotm, #stampofthemonth, or #ctmhstampofthemonth on social media. Those should get you some good ideas!

Here are a few cards I've made using the Bloom & Grow stamp set. These cards also feature papers from the Chelsea Gardens collection and a variety of embellishments.

This stamp of the month is only available in January! You can buy it at the full retail price of $17.95 or get it for only $5 with a $50 order.

Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Workshop

  • Saturday, January 27
  • 1:00-4:00
  • $5 workshop fee plus the cost of the kit ($29.95)

For my January scrapbooking workshop, we'll be working with the Chelsea Gardens Scrapbooking Kit!

This workshop kit retails for $29.95 and provides you with enough materials to create three 12x12 two-page layouts. It also provides you with the paper and embellishments to make six cards! Plus, you'll have leftover scraps!

Here's what you receive with this kit:

Here are the three layouts you will make with this kit:

I will be posting pictures of my actual layouts next week, so be sure to stop back by!

The kit costs $29.95, plus shipping and tax. You may purchase the kit on your own and bring it to the workshop, but please bring $5 to cover my instructional time. If you would like me to order the kit for you, the cost is $45, which covers the kit, shipping and tax, and the $5 workshop fee.

When you follow the cutting guide for cutting your kit, along with all the pieces for your layouts, you will also end up with pieces for six cards (two each of three designs). There are additional supplies needed to complete these cards, but if you would like to complete them during the workshop, I will provide card bases and envelopes and the use of my stamps and inks for $5.00. Just let me know when you RSVP if you'll be wanting to complete the cards as well!

Pocket Pages
The instructions for this workshop also show you how to complete two pocket pages to coordinate with the third layout. The layout uses Pocket Plus Memory Protectors Design 1 and Design 3 if you would like to purchase them with your kit.

Sign-up Deadline:
If you need me to order your kit, please let me know by Friday, January 19 so I can have it in time for the workshop. If you are ordering the kit on your own, you may order it at any time, but I would order no later than Wednesday, January 17 if you prefer the cheaper $4.95 shipping. One week ahead of time is probably fine for the $7.95 shipping option.

Optional Additional Services:
$5 - I will provide any adhesive you need, including foam tape.
$5 - I will cut all of your paper ahead of time so you can just assemble and embellish the layouts the day of the workshop.

What do you need to bring?
Please bring adhesive (I suggest a regular paper adhesive, glue dots, and foam tape) and basic tools (a paper cutter and scissors).

Please sign up using one of the following:

If you have any questions or need my address or directions, please contact me. I look forward to seeing you there!

Kits for Sale

Today's blog post is all about something new that I'm offering in 2018 - scrapbooking layout and card kits!

Each month I will be offering a stamping workshop where you can choose between making four cards or one two-page scrapbooking layout. I will have a set amount of kits cut and available for the workshop, but whatever doesn't get used for the workshop will remain for sale in my Square shop.

In addition to the monthly workshop kits, I am planning on adding a few more kits from some retired paper packets. I also have four layout kits leftover from a workshop I did at the end of December. All kits will remain available until they sell out!

Right now I have five scrapbooking layout kits and one card kit available for shipping or pickup. There are additional kits available in my shop, but they are for future stamping workshops. You're welcome to purchase a kit and reserve it, but I won't have them ready until the day of the workshop.

Here are pictures and links to each available kit.

For those of you who are local, you are welcome to pick up your kits from me instead of having them shipped. Simply select the pickup option when you place your order and you won't have any shipping costs. With the purchase of a kit, you are welcome to come use my stamps and inks to complete your layouts or cards. I simply request that you come during one of my monthly workshop times or to the Fishers library during one of my papercrafting crop times. Check out my Upcoming Events page for workshop dates and times.

For those of you who don't live close enough for pickup, I do offer shipping for these kits. I've tried to make it as reasonable as possible, but it can be pricey to ship anything 12x12. Because of that, each layout kit has an additional $2 shipping cost in addition to the flat shipping fee of $5.00.

When you purchase a card kit, you have the option to pay for stamping. This is for those of you who aren't local or who don't own the stamps and inks necessary to finish the cards. This is not available for the layouts. If you don't have the exact stamps that I used, I would encourage you to use whatever stamps you own to make them unique!

I will be sure to post an update when I add new kits to my store, and you can follow me on Facebook for the most up-to-date information. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
