April Coffee & Cards

I've had a lot of fun at my last two Coffee & Cards workshops, so I'm excited that I have another one coming up! At this workshop you will complete 12 cards while enjoying coffee (or hot chocolate) and some light snacks.
  • Saturday, April 8
  • 9:30-11:30 am
  • $35

The cost of the workshop covers all of your materials (including adhesive), coffee/hot chocolate and snacks, the use of my supplies, and my instruction. If you would like me to cut your paper for you, it will be an additional $3.

At the workshop you will receive the Here for You Cardmaking Kit. This kit includes an exclusive workshop stamp set, two sheets of Some Kinda Wonderful patterned paper, one roll of White Shimmer Trim, one pack of Black & White Dots, two sheets of cardstock (1 Blossom, 1 White Daisy), and 12 white card bases and envelopes. All of these materials are yours to keep!

The workshop stamp set includes a "I'm Here for You" sentiment and a "You're Not Alone" sentiment. If you don't want to make all of your cards with these two sentiments, I will have additional supplies and ideas for making different cards with your workshop materials. Watch for Friday's blog post, which will highlight these alternative cards!

The sign-up deadline is Wednesday, March 29. This allows me to order the kits in time for the workshop.

You can RSVP on Facebook at the link below, or you can email, call, or text me to sign up. Space is limited, so sign up soon!

Thanks,

Mojo Monday 489 - Congratulations

I'm here with another Mojo Monday card for you. My card this week is very simple, but sometimes that's all you need (or want)!

And here's my take on it:

Like I said before, this card is very simple. I used the sketch as inspiration, but I really wanted to use my scraps "as is" as much as possible, so I substituted the rectangle of black patterned paper for the circle. I still like the way it turned out, and I look forward to making more of these simple cards with my scraps!

All the patterned paper scraps come from the Dreamin' Big paper packet. I love the colors of this packet, and the patterns are so versatile. I also added a few Dreamin' Big sequins for some extra color.

The sentiment comes from the Happy Congratulations Cardmaking Kit. One of the things I love best about the cardmaking kit is the exclusive stamp set you receive. So in addition to all the materials for making 12 cards, you also get a stamp set you can use again and again!

Thanks for stopping by today. If you have any questions about anything I've mentioned, don't hesitate to contact me!

Thanks,
Bethany Rielage

Mojo Monday 488 - Tea-rrific

I really love the simple sketch for this week at the Mojo Monday blog, and I'm looking forward to trying out some other variations when I get a chance. I'll just put that on my never-ending list of craft projects I want to complete! :-) But in the meantime, I'll share my card for this week.

Here's the sketch for this week:

And here's my take on it:

This card came together pretty quickly because I knew I wanted to use paper from the Dreamin' Big paper packet and the March stamp of the month set, Tea-rrific.

I love using lots of patterned paper, so I knew I wanted the background to be a pattern, and I thought this Goldrush paper was perfect - not too overpowering but enough to add interest. I then added another strip of patterned paper to bring in more colors.

I stamped the tea cups in Juniper ink and colored in the designs with our Watercolor Pencils. I mounted the stamped White Daisy cardstock on a piece of Poppy cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Juniper and added a few Dreamin' Big Sequins to finish it off. The inside of the card finishes the outside sentiment with "it's always there to comfort me." I love when stamp sets include inside sentiments!

Here's the complete March stamp of the month set, Tea-rrific:

This stamp set is only available during the month of March, so be sure to order yours before it's gone! You can purchase it at the full retail price of $17.95, or you can get it for only $5 with a $50 order.

Dreamin' Big Layouts

I have really enjoyed working with the Dreamin' Big paper packet and putting together the layouts that come from the Dreamin' Big Workshops Your Way Scrapbooking Kit. This paper is so versatile and has worked great for some outdoor family adventure pages!

Here's my first two-page 12x12 layout:

Here's my second two-page 12x12 layout:

And here's my third two-page 12x12 layout:

I made a few tweaks to these layouts as I made them, but for the most part I stayed true to the designs from the workshop. I really love how these layouts came out - especially the second one about my husband and son and their caving adventure!

If you are interested in creating these layouts at my workshop this month, here are the details:
  • Sunday, March 26
  • 2:00-4:30
  • $35 (covers workshop kit, shipping & tax, and my instruction)
  • Sign-up deadline: Thursday, March 16

You can find more information and RSVP at the Facebook event page, or you can contact me to sign up.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Mojo Monday 487 - Dreamin' Big

Some weeks Mondays are just too crazy for much crafting! But I was able to get some crafting in early this morning, and I have my Mojo Monday card for you today.

Here's the sketch for this week:

And here's my card:

This card uses paper from the Dreamin' Big paper packet and the absolutely adorable Dreamin' Big cardmaking stamp set. These papers are so versatile, with plenty of subtle patterns that can be used for girls or boys. You could even use the other side of the flower paper, which has bugs on it, to make a more masculine card!

I used Poppy cardstock as the bottom layer, and then added different patterned papers on top. As always, Close To My Heart's paper coordinate so well that it's easy to mix and match patterns. I stamped the sentiment in Poppy and Juniper, and then I stamped the images in Goldrush and Saffron. The images were simple to cut out using the coordinating Thin Cuts. Then I added a few Black & White Dots to finish the card.

I absolutely love the Dreamin' Big cardmaking stamp set - especially since it has coordinating Thin Cuts! The sentiments are really versatile, and the Thin Cuts make cutting out the images effortless! And right now all Thin Cuts are 25% off! You can get this bundle (the stamp set and the Thin Cuts) for only $17.96! Click on the link below to see all the great deals you can get on Thin Cuts this month!
