Make Waves Layouts

Last week I shared all the information about my upcoming Make Waves Scrapbooking Workshop, so today I wanted to share the actual layouts I created with this kit.

All of the scrapbooking kits from Close To My Heart come with cutting instructions and suggested layout and card designs. Sometimes I follow their suggestions exactly, but most of the time I end up making some changes. For my Make Waves layouts, I decided to change up the embellishments that I used on each layout.

The Complements packs that coordinate with each paper packet have suggested groupings on the packaging, which make it very easy to put together great-looking layouts. I decided to stick with these suggested groupings for my layouts instead of the combinations indicated in the workshop kit instructions. That way I wouldn't be left with any miscellaneous embellishments, and I would have a whole set of matching Complements for a fourth layout!

So here are my layouts!

Layout 1

Layout 2

Layout 3

If you would like to complete these layouts with my instruction, you can still sign up for my Make Waves Scrapbooking Workshop on Sunday, February 25. You can find out all the information on my Upcoming Events page or on the Facebook event page. You can RSVP on the Facebook event page, or you can email, call, or text me to sign up.

If you need me to order your kit, please let me know by Friday, February 16 so I can have it in time for the workshop. If you are ordering the kit on your own, you may order it at any time, but I would order no later than tomorrow, Wednesday, February 14 if you prefer the cheaper $4.95 shipping. One week ahead of time is probably fine for the $7.95 shipping option.

Thanks for taking a look at my layouts! If you have any questions about anything I've mentioned today, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks,
Bethany Rielage

For my February scrapbooking workshop, we'll be working with the Make Waves Scrapbooking Kit!

This workshop kit retails for $29.95 and provides you with enough materials to create three 12x12 two-page layouts. It also provides you with the paper and embellishments to make eight cards! Plus, you'll have leftover scraps!

Here are the three layouts you will make with this kit:

I will be posting pictures of my actual layouts next week, so be sure to stop back by!

Cost
The kit costs $29.95, plus shipping and tax. You may purchase the kit on your own and bring it to the workshop, but please bring $5 to cover my instructional time. If you would like me to order the kit for you, the cost is $45, which covers the kit, shipping and tax, and the $5 workshop fee.

When you follow the cutting guide for cutting your kit, along with all the pieces for your layouts, you will also end up with pieces for eight cards (two each of four designs). There are additional supplies needed to complete these cards, but if you would like to complete them during the workshop, I will provide card bases and envelopes and the use of my stamps and inks for $6.00. Just let me know when you RSVP if you'll be wanting to complete the cards as well!

Pocket Pages
The instructions for this workshop also show you how to complete two pocket pages to coordinate with the third layout. The layout uses Pocket Plus Memory Protectors Design 1 and Design 3 if you would like to purchase them with your kit.

CTS 257 - Sunshine in My Pocket

Today I have another card for you based on a sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch blog. I started back up with sketches last week, and I'm looking forward to continuing each week when I can. I'm not sure if it'll always be on Wednesday, but we'll see!

And here's my card:

When I first saw this sketch, I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I started looking through my stamp sets to see what I could use for the background. I saw the Banner Love stamp set and immediately wanted to use the hearts.

Once I chose the Banner Love stamp set, I remembered that it's part of the Pretty in Pink sale this month, so I decided to try and use mostly products that are on sale this month!

I used Bashful Glitter Paper for the background and a piece of Raspberry cardstock for the strip. I also stamped and edged everything in Raspberry ink. The sentiment comes from the February stamp of the month set, Sunny Thoughts, and I finished off the card with some Bashful Pearls. (Right now the Bashful Pearls are out of stock, but you can still get them as part of the Color of the Year Bundle.)

You can see all of the products that are on sale this month at the link below, and don't forget to add the stamp of the month set for only $5 with a qualifying purchase!

CTS 256 - Just for You

Those of you who have followed my blog for awhile may remember that I used to play along with the weekly sketches from the Mojo Monday blog. They discontinued their weekly challenge last year, and I haven't participated in a sketch challenge since. I knew there were other challenges on other blogs, but I just hadn't had time to look into them. I did some looking this week, and I found some sketch challenges that I hope I'll have time for going forward!

The first one I'm trying is the blog CAS(E) this Sketch. I have followed their blog for awhile, and I like that they prefer cards that are clean and simple (CAS) because that's typically my style! They have a weekly card sketch challenge, and I'm going to try and participate as much as I can!

For this week's card I'm using papers from the Chelsea Gardens paper packet. Since it's the featured paper packet for January, I figured I better get in one last card this month!

And here's my card:

As I mentioned above, all the patterned papers on my card come from the Chelsea Gardens paper packet. I also used some Sweet Leaf and Glacier cardstock.

I cut all my rectangles to 1.5 x 2 inches, and then I adhered the patterned paper to the cardstock first. I covered up more of the cardstock rectangles than the patterned paper because I wanted to see more of the designs on my card. I spaced out all the rectangles on a piece of 4 x 5.25-inch White Daisy cardstock and glued them down. Then I adhered the cardstock to the card base with Thin 3D Foam Dots.

The sentiment, which comes from the Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set, was stamped with Charcoal ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you have any questions about the products I used today, please contact me!

Hexagon Scraps Card

Today I just wanted to share with you a quick and easy card I made this morning with some scraps. I've had these scraps sitting on my crafting table for months, and I finally made them into a card this morning!

Almost all of the supplies I used on this card are now retired, but you could easily recreate this card with any supplies you have.

I punched the hexagons out of patterned paper, but you could also cut shapes out with your Cricut or use a Thin Cut shape. You certainly don't have to use hexagons! I arranged them on a piece of White Daisy cardstock cut to 4 x 5.25 inches. I stamped the sentiment with Lagoon ink and added a few enamel hearts. I attached a piece of retired Lagoon Fundamentals to the card base, and then I adhered the White Daisy cardstock with Thin 3-D Foam Dots. The sentiment comes from one of the stamp sets in the Flower Market Cricut Collection.

I'm always looking for ways to use up my little bits and pieces of paper collections, and I think this will be a good card to add to the repertoire!

If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks,
Bethany Rielage
