Cats & Bats Scrapbooking Workshop

I'm having two scrapbooking workshops in September, and for the first one we will be using the Cats & Bats Scrapbooking Kit!

This workshop kit retails for $27.95 and provides you with enough materials to create three 12x12 two-page layouts. It also provides you with the paper and embellishments to make nine cards! Plus, you'll have leftover scraps!

Here's what you receive with this kit:

1 Cats & Bats Paper Packet
1 pack of Cats & Bats Complements
1 pack of Cats & Bats Dots
1 roll of Black Shimmer Trim
6 sheets of cardstock (2 Black, 1 Emerald, 3 Pebble)

Cost:

The cost of the workshop is $35. This covers the cost of the kit, shipping, tax, printed directions, and my instruction. If you have already ordered the kit on your own but would still like to come to the workshop, please bring $3.00 to cover my instructional time.

Sign-up Deadline:
The deadline to sign up for this workshop is Wednesday, September 6th. The deadline allows me to order the kits in time.

Optional Additional Services:
$5 - I will provide any adhesive you need, including foam tape.
$5 - I will cut all of your paper ahead of time so you can just assemble and decorate the layouts the day of the workshop.

What do you need to bring?
Please bring adhesive (I suggest a regular paper adhesive, glue dots, and foam tape) and basic tools (a paper cutter and scissors).

September Workshops

Craft Nights

I am having two craft nights in September, both from 6:00 to 10:00 in the evening. These are informal times when you can just bring anything you want to work on and come hang out. But please do sign up in advance since space is limited. You can email, call, or text me to sign up.

Card Buffets

I've really enjoyed having monthly card buffets this year. Each month I offer a variety of cards, but I always have several made with the featured paper packet for the month. In September, the featured paper packets are Cats & Bats and Falling for You!

Here's how it works: You come and make as many cards as you want in the two-hour class time. Each card is $2 and they are all designed and pre-cut for you; all you do is put them together. There are several cards from which to choose.

All you have to do is bring adhesive, and I provide the rest! I suggest bringing a regular paper adhesive, glue dots, and some kind of foam tape. If you don't have adhesive or would just like to use mine, I can provide what you need for $3.00.

September Cardmaking Workshop

During this workshop you will complete 12 beautiful cards. The workshop cost covers all of your materials (including adhesive), the use of my supplies, and my instruction. Your papers will also be pre-cut and ready for you to assemble!

At the workshop you will receive the Happy Day Cardmaking Kit. This kit includes an exclusive workshop stamp set, two sheets of Falling for You patterned paper, one roll of White & Gold Ribbon, four sheets of cardstock (2 Espresso, 1 Saffron, 1 White Daisy), and 12 card bases and envelopes. All of these materials are yours to keep!

Falling for You Scrapbooking Workshop

The Falling for You Scrapbooking Kit provides you with enough materials to create three 12x12 two-page layouts. It also provides you with the paper and embellishments for nine cards! With this kit you receive a full Falling for You paper packet, 1 pack of Falling for You Complements, one roll of White & Bronze Twine, one pack of Bronze Sequins, and four sheets of cardstock (2 Pebble, 1 Toffee, 1 White Daisy).

Optional Additional Services:

$5 - I will provide any adhesive you need, including foam tape.

$5 - I will cut all of your paper ahead of time so you can just assemble and decorate the layouts the day of the workshop.

School Year Card

The August stamp of the month set, School Year, is perfect for scrapbooking, but today I want to share a card I made with it.

This card would be fun to send with your child on the first day of school or to put in a lunchbox with some encouraging words written inside. You could also send it to your child's teacher to encourage him or her on the first day as well!

If your first day of school has already passed, you could use this card to remember your child's first day. You could put their picture on the inside left side, and then stamp the Back to School image on the inside right side and let your child write about what happened that day.

You could also make this same card for the last day of school and send it to your child's teacher as a thank you for a great year!

The background patterned paper comes from the new Whimsy Fundamental Paper Packet, and then I embossed a piece of Lagoon cardstock with our new Alphabet Embossing Folder. I stamped the chalkboard image with Memento Black ink and colored the outside edge with the Mahogany Shin-Han marker. I stamped "First Day of School" with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I watercolored over top of it to make it look like a chalkboard. I also stamped the pencil in Memento Black ink and colored it in with the Clay, Golden Yellow, and Vivid Green Shin-Han markers. Then I added some Black & White Dots to finish it off.

Pocket Scrapbooking Update

Back in February I shared some of my pocket scrapbooking layouts from the beginning of 2017 (see this post). I've been meaning to share some more layouts from my 2017 album, but I just haven't gotten around to it. But today I have some for you!

These are my layouts from the end of January through the end of February. They are all pocket scrapbooking layouts, and most of the products I used on these layouts are no longer available. Most of the pocket cards are from Close To My Heart, but some of the cards and embellishments are from other companies. I have also blurred out some faces of other people's children for privacy, and some of the pages still need journaling.

Pocket pages are my favorite way to scrapbook all those everyday memories that may not need their own layouts. I choose to not do a lot of embellishing on most of these pages because I just want to get the pictures in my album and record the stories.

Jack Layouts

Last week I shared all the information about my upcoming August Scrapbooking Workshop, so today I wanted to share the actual layouts I created with this kit.

I absolutely love the Jack Scrapbooking Workshop, but some of the layouts are geared toward scrapbooking the men or boys in your life. That's a great thing, but when I started putting together these layouts, I didn't necessarily want to focus on my son and/or husband for all three layouts. So instead of creating new layouts, I simply swapped out the suggested titles with cuts from Close To My Heart's brand-new Cricut cartridge, You Are Here. I also added a few stamped images from the stamp sets you receive with the You Are Here Collection.

When you attend my August Scrapbooking Workshop, you will also have the option of cutting out different titles or images to coordinate with your layouts!

August Card Buffets

Today I'm sharing information about my August card buffets. I'm having two of them this month, and I hope you'll join me for one of them!

Here's how a card buffet works: You come and make as many cards as you want in the two-hour workshop time. Each card is $2 and they are all designed and pre-cut for you. All you have to do is bring adhesive, and I provide the rest! I suggest bringing a regular paper adhesive, glue dots, and some kind of foam tape. I can also provide adhesive for an additional $3.00.

Each month I offer new cards using Close To My Heart's featured paper packet for the month. The featured paper packet for August is Jack, so four of the cards this month feature the Jack Paper Packet and the Jack Cardmaking Stamp Set.
