Welcome to the first ever Dr. Phil's Family blog hop! We're so excited that you'll be joining us today as we showcase projects using the fabulous embossing folders from Close To My Heart. These embossing folders are perfect for cards and scrapbooking layouts, since the open slot at the top of each folder allows for longer paper pieces!
For my project I used the Arrow embossing folder, which I thought worked perfectly with the cute arrow paper from the Chalk It Up paper packet. I actually made this card from scraps that I had left over from the Chalk It Up Workshop on the Go kit.
I used the arrow embossing folder on the lagoon paper, and I love how the white core of our cardstock shows through a little when the paper's embossed.
The owl image comes from the August stamp of the month set, What A Hoot, and the "Gee, Thanks" image is actually a sneak peek at a special stamp set available only in September! I stamped the owl twice, once on the arrow patterned paper and once on white daisy cardstock. Then I cut them out and pieced them together. I used our new thin 3-D foam tape to mount the piece of Flaxen cardstock, the tips of the wings, and the speech bubble.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop! Your next stop is Jaymi Victor, who's using the damask embossing folder. Thanks!
