From the Heart Card Kit

September is National Stamping Month, and Close To My Heart is offering a limited-time, exclusive card kit to celebrate!

The exclusive From the Heart card kit gives you all the materials you need for creating 12 interactive cards, including an E-size stamp set with heartfelt sentiments and stamps you can layer together for exquisitely artistic cards. The card kit can also be yours for FREE when you become a Consultant in September or when you host a qualifying party!

You can purchase the stamp set or card bases & envelopes separately, but when you purchase them together as the kit, you save 20%! But I love the fact that you can purchase the card bases & envelopes separately so you can make as many cards as you want!

The stamp set that comes with the kit has many sets of images that use two- or three-step stamping. Here are a few color combinations to get you started.

I have seen so many wonderful ideas for these cards online, so I wanted to share a few of them with you today. These cards use stamp sets other than the one provided in the kit, but that just goes to show how versatile these cards can be!

This card uses a picture instead of a sentiment on the front!
It also uses a stamp set from the You Are Here Cricut Collection.

This card uses the Cats & Bats paper packet and the stamp set A New Adventure.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I really hope you'll try making some of these interactive cards. Don't forget this card kit is only available through the end of September!

Three Cards Three Ways

I'm back from vacation! It was a great week and a good opportunity to be away from social media and the internet for awhile, but it's always good to be home.

I have three cards to share with you today and some variations on those cards. The cards I'm sharing are the three cards you can make using the cutting guide from the Falling for You scrapbooking workshop kit. I love that the directions include scrapbooking layouts and cards for those of us who love both! And if you don't want to make the cards, it's easy to see which pieces you don't need to cut.

Here are my first set of cards, using the Falling for You Cardmaking Stamp Set & Thin Cuts.

I really liked how those cards turned out, but I wanted to try making the same cards using two other stamp sets. In all of the following cards, I used the same card designs and I kept the leaves from the Falling for You cardmaking stamp set.

This next set of cards was made using the September stamp of the month set, Feel So Blessed.

The last set of cards was made using the stamp set, All the Thanks.

I really like each set of cards, and I love how versatile Close To My Heart makes their patterns and their stamp sets! Which set is your favorite?

Falling for You Scrapbooking Workshop

  • Saturday, September 23
  • 2:00-4:00
  • $35

I'm having two scrapbooking workshops in September, and for the second one, we will be using the Falling for You Scrapbooking Kit!

This workshop kit retails for $27.95 and provides you with enough materials to create three 12x12 two-page layouts. It also provides you with the paper and embellishments to make nine cards! Plus, you'll have leftover scraps!

Here's what you receive with this kit:

Here are the three layouts you will make with this kit:

To see my versions of these layouts (plus extra pictures of each layout), check out the Facebook event page.

The cost of the workshop is $35. This covers the cost of the kit, shipping, tax, printed directions, and my instruction. If you have already ordered the kit on your own but would still like to come to the workshop, please bring $3.00 to cover my instructional time.

When you follow the cutting guide for cutting your kit, along with all the pieces for your layouts, you will also end up with pieces for nine cards (three each of three designs). There are additional supplies needed to complete these cards, but if you would like to complete them during the workshop, I will provide card bases and envelopes and the use of my stamps and inks for $6.00. Just let me know when you RSVP if you'll be wanting to complete the cards as well!

Sign-up Deadline:
The deadline to sign up for this workshop is Wednesday, September 13th. The deadline allows me to order the kits in time.

Optional Additional Services:
$5 - I will provide any adhesive you need, including foam tape.
$5 - I will cut all of your paper ahead of time so you can just assemble and decorate the layouts the day of the workshop.

What do you need to bring?
Please bring adhesive (I suggest a regular paper adhesive, glue dots, and foam tape) and basic tools (a paper cutter and scissors).

Please sign up using one of the following:

If you have any questions or need my address or directions, please contact me. I look forward to seeing you there!

September Card Buffets

Today I'm sharing information about my September card buffets. I'm having two of them this month, and I hope you'll join me for one of them!
Here's how a card buffet works: You come and make as many cards as you want in the two-hour workshop time. Each card is $2 and they are all designed and pre-cut for you. All you have to do is bring adhesive, and I provide the rest! I suggest bringing a regular paper adhesive, glue dots, and some kind of foam tape. I can also provide adhesive for an additional $3.00.

Here are individual pictures of all the cards I'm offering this month:

Each month I offer new cards using Close To My Heart's featured paper packet for the month. There are actually two featured paper packets in September - Cats & Bats and Falling for You - so I have several cards using papers from those two collections.

I hope you'll join me this month for one of my card buffets. RSVP on my Facebook page or contact me to sign up!

One Sketch Two Ways

I love taking sketches and trying to change them up, so today I want to show you two cards that I made from the same design. I kept the papers the same, but I switched up the card orientations and used two different stamp sets.

Here's the first card:

This sketch comes from the Make It from Your Heart, Volume 2 how-to book, and I've used this sketch many times. For this card I used the Cats & Bats paper packet and some Willow cardstock. I also used the Cats & Bats cardmaking stamp set (which can also be purchased with Thin Cuts). With this versatile sentiment, I think this card would work for a birthday card or a simple hello card.

I stamped the inside of the cat in Pebble and the outline in Black, and then I stamped the sentiment in Goldrush and the little stars in Willow. I popped up the Willow cardstock with thin foam tape, and then I added a few Black & White Dots.

Here's my second card using this same sketch and the same papers:

For this card I changed the orientation of the card and used the September stamp of the month, Feel So Blessed. I also used some Grey Gems instead of Black & White Dots.

I stamped "thanks" in Black and "for everything" in Goldrush, and then I cut out the Goldrush banner and popped it up with thin foam tape.

I love how versatile sketches can be - even when you use the exact same papers! I'd love to see what you do with this card design - or take a different sketch and see if you can make two different cards!

September Cardmaking Workshop

Close To My Heart has four wonderful cardmaking workshops in the Holiday Expressions Idea Book. The kit we'll be working with in September is the Happy Day Cardmaking Kit!
  • Saturday, September 16th
  • 2:00-4:00
  • $35

The cost of the workshop covers all of your materials (including adhesive), the use of my supplies, and my instruction. Your papers will also be pre-cut and ready for you to assemble! All you have to do is show up!

At the workshop you will receive the Happy Day Cardmaking Kit, which provides you with the materials to create 12 cards. Easy-to-follow instructions guide you in creating two different card designs, but thanks to the interchangeable designs and stamp sentiments, you can make your cards your way!

Here are a few of the different cards I made with this kit:

Kit Contents:
  • 1 exclusive workshop stamp set (B-size)
  • 2 sheets of Falling for You patterned paper
  • 1 roll of White & Gold Ribbon
  • 4 sheets of cardstock (2 Espresso, 1 Saffron, 1 White Daisy)
  • 12 card bases and envelopes

Because your kit includes a stamp set for you to keep and plenty of leftover supplies, you can continue to make cards after the workshop is over! The kit comes with everything you need, except for inks, blocks, and tools, which I will provide during the workshop.

Optional Additional Supplies
Besides the kit contents, there are additional tools that we will use to make the cards. If you would like to order any of the following items in order to make more cards at home, you can add them to your order - and I will cover the tax and shipping! But you must let me know when you RSVP.

Sign-Up Deadline
The deadline to sign up for this workshop is Wednesday, September 6th. This allows me to order the kits in time for the workshop.

You can RSVP on the Facebook event page, or you can email, call, or text me to sign up. Space is limited, so sign up soon!
