Mojo Monday 499 - Happy Birthday

I hope you had a beautiful holiday weekend!

I'm here today with my Mojo Monday card for the week. On the fifth Monday of the month, they normally change up the shape or size of the card sketch, but I tend to just adapt it to my normal size. It's too complicated for me to figure out how to mail different size cards! :-)

My card this week uses papers from the Little Dreamer paper packet, which is the featured paper for the month of May. I really love the color combination of these papers! I used several different patterned papers and a piece of Thistle cardstock. I cut an oval out of White Daisy cardstock using the new Basic Ovals Thin Cuts, and then I stamped the sentiment in Lagoon ink. This sentiment comes from the Birthday Sparkles stamp set.


I adhered the White Daisy oval with some Thin Foam Tape, and then I added a few pieces of White Shimmer Trim to finish it off.

June Cardmaking Workshop

Close To My Heart has four wonderful cardmaking workshops in the Seasonal Expressions 2 idea book, and I'm having a workshop for one of them each month from May through August. The kit we'll be working with in June is the Father's Day Cardmaking Kit!
  • Saturday, June 10
  • 9:30-11:30
  • $35

The cost of the workshop covers all of your materials (including adhesive), the use of my supplies, and my instruction. Your papers will also be pre-cut and ready for you to assemble!

At the workshop you will receive the Father's Day Cardmaking Kit, which provides you with the materials to create 12 cards. Easy-to-follow instructions guide you in creating two different card designs, but thanks to the interchangeable designs and stamp sentiments, you can make your cards your way!

Kit Contents:


Because your kit includes a stamp set for you to keep and plenty of leftover supplies, you can continue to make cards after the workshop is over! The kit comes with everything you need, except for inks and blocks, which I will provide during the workshop.

Optional Additional Supplies
  • If you would like to purchase your own set of inks in order to make more cards at home, you can add one or more of the ink pads to your order. The inks we will use in the workshop are Black, Lagoon, and Ruby. Each individual ink pad is $7.95.
  • You can also add a pack of 50 card bases and envelopes to your order for $14.95.
  • I will cover your shipping and tax for these additional items - but you must add them when you RSVP!

Sign-Up Deadline
The deadline to sign up for this workshop is Wednesday, May 31. This allows me to order the kits in time for the workshop.

Mojo Monday 498 - You Did It!

I'm back with another Mojo Monday card today, and I'm using the Little Dreamer paper this week. Little Dreamer is the featured paper packet for May from Close To My Heart, and I have loved using it this month!

As I mentioned above, all the patterned papers on my card come from the Little Dreamer paper packet. The paper with all the words is actually one of the 4x6 cut-apart cards meant for pocket scrapbooking, but I love using them on cards!


I cut two stars out of White Daisy and Blossom cardstock using the new Basic Stars Thin Cuts, and then I stamped a sentiment on the white heart in Lagoon ink. The sentiment comes from one of the stamp sets included in the Cricut Flower Market collection. The little heart was stamped in Tangerine ink and comes from the Workshops Your Way Anniversary Cardmaking Kit. I adhered the stars with thin foam tape and finished off the card with some Black & White Dots.

May Stamp of the Month

I really love the May stamp of the month set - Live, Laugh Love!


I love the big, bold words and the cute flower images. There are so many different ways you can use these word stamps - simple stamping, embossing, watercoloring, markers! For a few ideas, check out the blog post at the link below. These ideas were created with a very similar stamp set that is now retired.

I have also seen great artwork online from other consultants! If you're interested in seeing some of this artwork, search the hashtags #ctmhsotm, #stampofthemonth, or #ctmhstampofthemonth on social media. Those should get you some good ideas!

In the meantime, here are a few projects made using the Live, Laugh, Love stamp set.

Extra Scrapbooking Workshops

Each month I try to offer a variety of paper crafting workshops. I usually try to at least have a card buffet, a cardmaking workshop, and a scrapbooking workshop. Some months may have more than that. But I often find that there's more I want to do than I have time for! And that's my dilemma right now.

There are two scrapbooking workshops I want to offer, but I haven't been able to find time for them yet! Like the My Boy workshop that I held in April, these two workshops were created by another Close To My Heart consultant, but she has made the directions available (for purchase) to other consultants to use for their own workshops.

Today on my blog I want to give you all the information about these workshops, and if you're interested, please let me know. I will go ahead and purchase the supplies and we'll find a time to have them later this summer. I'm doing this now because several of the items needed for these workshops retire at the end of the current Annual Idea Book, and I want to purchase them before they sell out!

My Girl Scrapbooking Workshop
This workshop features the Adventure Fundamentals papers and the My Girl complements. You will create four two-page layouts, and you will have leftover supplies to take home. Here's what's included in the cost of the workshop:

The cost of the workshop is $45, which covers all of your supplies (except adhesive), full-color printed directions, the use of my tools, and my personal instruction. All of your papers will be pre-cut for you, and you can keep any leftover materials. I can also provide adhesive for you for an additional $5.

Here are the four layouts we will be creating in this workshop:







Uptown Basics Workshop
This workshop features the Uptown Fundamentals papers and the You & Me complements. You will create three two-page layouts, and you will have leftover supplies to take home. Here's what's included in the cost of the workshop:

The cost of the workshop is $40, which covers all of your supplies (except adhesive), full-color printed directions, the use of my tools, and my personal instruction. All of your papers will be pre-cut for you, and you can keep any leftover materials. I can also provide adhesive for you for an additional $5.

If you're interested in either (or both) of these workshops, please let me know ASAP. Many of these supplies are now only available while supplies last, so I can't guarantee how long I'll be able to get them. I'll be putting in an order this Thursday, May 18 if you'd like to go ahead and secure your kit(s). I'll also be placing an order again toward the end of the month.
